Vegan No Yeast Bread

Have no yeast? Don’t like waiting for bread dough to rise? Then this recipe is perfect for you! Crispy on the outside, soft inside, you can make yummy bread very quickly with No yeast!

I have made bread without yeast a number of times in the past but I am finally satisfied with this Vegan No Yeast Bread recipe! It has a texture like baguette as its crispy on the outside and the softness inside is a little bit like scone but not fluffy as that. Serve as a side or a starter to go with other dishes. We enjoyed my Cauliflower and vegetable soup with this bread rolls yesterday☺

Ingredients required

  • Vegan margarine
  • Soya milk
  • Apple cider vinegar
  • Sugar
  • Salt
  • Baking powder
  • Plain flour
  • Rolled oats

As you can see that you only need simple ingredients, which you might already have in your kitchen. This recipe is handy when you have ran out of bread but you can’t go to a shop to buy one right away.

Quick making guide

  • Mix the soya milk and vinegar in a bowl and let it sit for a few minutes
  • In a large bowl, whisk the margarine (melted), sugar, salt and baking powder together and add the soya milk mixture
  • Add the plain flour to the wet mixture, half of the amount first, mix, then the other half and combine well
  • At this point, the dough may be quite sticky. Add a little more flour at a time as you combine with your hand until it forms soft, not sticky dough. Add the oats during this step
  • Get the dough out onto a floured surface on a table and knead for a minute.
  • Divide the dough into 6 and roll into balls and place on a baking tray with enough space in between
  • Bake for 30-35 minutes until golden brown. Serve warm.

This bread is very good when it’s warm so if you have some leftovers, keep in an airtight container and reheat in the microwave or the oven for a few minutes before serving.

Ingredients
  

  • 165 ml Soya milk
  • 1 tsp Apple cider vinegar or white vinegar
  • 1 tsp Sugar
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 2 tsp Baking powder
  • 30 g Vegan margarine melted
  • 220 g Plain flour You may need more to adjust the consistency
  • a handful Rolled oats

Instructions
 

  • Preheat the oven to 180°C (gas mark 4.5) and prepare a baking tray lined with baking paper
  • Mix the soya milk and vinegar in a bowl and let it sit for a few minutes. This will make vegan butter milk
  • In a large bowl, whisk the margarine (melted), sugar, salt and baking powder together and add the soya milk mixture
  • Add the plain flour to the wet mixture, half of the amount first, mix, then the other half and combine well
  • At this point, the dough may be quite sticky. Add a little more flour at a time as you combine with your hand until it forms soft, not sticky dough. Add the oats during this step
  • Get the dough out onto a floured surface on a table and knead for a minute.
  • Divide the dough into 6 and roll into balls and place on a baking tray with enough space in between
  • Sprinkle some oats on the top of each roll (optional) and bake for 30-35 minutes until golden brown. Serve warm.

Notes

*The bread is really delicious just after it comes out of the oven
*The bread will keep in an air tight container up to 3 days. Make sure to warm up the leftovers before serving. It’s best to serve warm!
