Tortilla Bread

This homemade tortilla bread requires only a few ingredients that you might already have in your kitchen! soft, fluffy and simple, it’s perfect for making delicious wraps with any fillings.

Ingredients
  

  • Plain flour
  • Baking powder
  • Salt
  • Sunflower oil or any other unflavoured oil
  • Warm water like a temperature of baby milk

Instructions
 

  • Mix the flour, baking powder, salt together in a bowl. Add the oil, mix and rub into the flour using your fingers until it forms coarse crumbles.
  • Pour in the warm water and mix to combine using your hand and knead for a few minutes until it forms a soft and smooth dough.
  • Divide the dough into 5 or 6 rolls and allow them to rest for about 30 minutes with a cover on.
  • On a floured surface, roll each piece with a rolling pin into *a thin, 8 inch (about) circle.
  • *Heat a frying pan or a iron skillet until very hot and carefully place one rolled dough in.
  • *When you see bubbles start to appear after about 40 to 60 seconds, flip over and cook the other side for 40 to 60 seconds.
  • *Keep your cooked tortilla covered with a piece of clothes until ready to serve.

Notes

*Make sure it's very thin that you can almost see through. The size might be bigger than 8 inch if you are making 5 tortilla like mine but that's ok, it's easy to wrap with bigger ones :)
*The pan should be very hot before you put in the tortilla, otherwise it will stick to the pan and won't cook nicely.
*Please do not overcook the tortillas, they will be crunchy and too hard for wrapping when they are cooked too much.
*Keeping the cooked tortillas covered helps them to stay soft.
*Leftovers will keep in a covered container up to 2 days in the fridge. Microwave for 30 seconds to reheat as an easy option.
