Plantain Oven Fries
Easy and healthy plantain chips cooked in the oven with a bit of oil!
Servings 4 people (as a side dish)
- 2 large plantain not too ripe, not too green
- 1 tbsp oil I used sunflower oil
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1/2 tsp cumin optional
Tofu dipping sauce (if you are using)
- 50 g tofu
- 1 tsp Dijon mustard
- 1 tsp lemon juice
- 1 tbsp nutritional yeast
- 1/4 tsp salt
Preheat the oven to 210°C (gas mark 7). Prepare a baking tray lined with baking paper.
Cut the plantains into sticks like fries and put them on the prepared baking tray. Drop the oil, salt, black pepper and the cumin (optional) and mix with a spoon to coat the plantain sticks.
Place the plantain sticks nicely without overlapping and put in the oven, bake for 20 minutes or until golden. Do not forget to turn over halfway through the cooking.
